Super Kidd (슈퍼키드)

Members: HerCheck (vocals), Seber (guitar), Heavy Potter (bass), Shukaka (drums)

Super Kidd is the working man’s superhero in the form of crazy, energetic fun to help relieve the everyday stresses of life. Formed in 2005, Super Kidd (originally Honey Checks) has made a name for themselves as the Korean indie scene’s ‘Happy Virus,’ known for their goofy antics onstage and off. The band rose to mainstream stardom in 2007 with the music survival show Showvival, and have since released three studio albums and multiple singles and EPs. Super Kidd’s music is an eclectic blend of punk rock, dance pop, electronic, and even takes inspiration from the old school Korean trot genre, with a consistent variety of HerCheck and Zingo’s unique vocals and rapping talents. (Zingo is currently on hiatus from the group as he completes his mandatory military service.) Over the years, Super Kidd has garnered a reputation for being one of the most imaginative bands in Korea, bringing out the inner child in everyone with their carpe diem attitude. Most recently, the band has made it to the quarter finals of the band survival show,Top Band 2, showing all those who questioned Super Kidd’s musical focus that there’s more to Super Kidd than just having fun.
