Most Anticipated Acts of 2012 — Part 2: Debuts!
After contemplating 2012′s most anticipated comebacks in Part 1 of our series, we’ve moved on to this year’s upcoming rookie acts. With the new year officially here, K-pop has already added a few debuts to their roster, including girl group SPICA and rap ballad rookies F.I.X. And we’re only ten days into 2012!
While mentally preparing ourselves for another year of hundreds (okay, maybe just dozens) of debuts, we’ve compiled a list of the most promising rookie groups set to debut this year.
Let’s take a closer look at which upcoming idols could potentially become the power rookies of 2012, beginning with TS Entertainment’s B.A.P!

Expected Debut: January 26, 2012

TS Entertainment, home to girl group SECRET, is finally gearing up for the long-awaited debut of their first male idol group: these six idols-to-be have gone through a slew of names, from Bang Yong Gook’s group to TS BABY to Bang & Zelo’s group, and so on. Months later, these six boys have finally been christened B.A.P, which stands for Best Absolute Perfect.
And they’re ready to take over the world. Literally. Kind of.
You see, B.A.P is starring in their very own pre-debut TV series — not unlike Big Bang’s pre-debut documentary and 2PM & 2AM’s Hot Blood. But there’s a twist. In SBS-MTV’s reality-show-meets-sitcom introduction to B.A.P, the six members are aliens who have come to Earth to take over our world — by becoming K-pop idols, of course. Through weekly missions given to them by their fairy godmother (played hilariously by SECRET’s Hyosung), B.A.P will learn what it means to be an idol, from filming debut teasers to winning over new fans.
And TS Entertainment has graciously put up the full pilot episode of Tadah! It’s B.A.P on their official YouTube channel for fans to enjoy. We’ve got golden boy MC Himchan taking the lead, Bang Yong Gook cursing his mouth off, the adorably-awkward Jong Up, Dae Hyun with his mask, maknae Jun Hong (aka Zelo) with his curly locks, and the well-mannered (but super-talkative) Young Jae.
Check out B.A.P’s debut teaser along with episode 1 of Tadah! It’s B.A.P!
