2NE1 Says “I Love You”

2NE1 Says “I Love You”

Believe it or not, 2NE1‘s new electro-pop digital single “I Love You” is the group’s first sweet confession song since their 2009 debut. Equal parts sexy and shy, the track and music video show a softer side of K-pop’s fiercest girl group.

The male half of 2NE1′s fanbase should be relieved to hear the ladies sing lines like: “don’t make me jealous // don’t make me obsessed,” especially after enduring a string of cool and confident yet harshsongs like “Hate You,” “Go Away” and “I Don’t Care.” The best part is that even with a new love song, 2NE1 manages to keep their confident style from their wardrobe to their hair.

As it turns out, 2NE1′s sexy image placed a bit of a strain on YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk’s nerves. To him, maknae Minzy is still a little too young, even if she has all the right moves in all the right places. In a recent article on TV Report, he said, “In the new choreography for 2NE1, there is a sexy dance where they use the lower half of their bodies. All the members are doing well with the sexy dance so I am satisfied, but when our underage member Minzy does it I just feel a little uncomfortable.”

“I Love You” is available on iTunes. Keep an ear out for the English version, which will be released soon.
